3. WHEN INFORMATION IS SHARED

We share information only in limited situations:

With other users

Ideas is a social app. Information you choose to share may be visible to other users depending on the feature and audience settings. For example, your profile, posts, comments, reactions, messages, event RSVPs, availability, group membership, community membership, or plan activity may be visible to friends, group members, community members, event participants, message recipients, or the public if you use a public feature.

With service providers

We use service providers to operate the Services. These providers may process information for us only as needed to provide their services. Examples include hosting, database, authentication, cloud functions, storage, notifications, maps, search, image loading, app diagnostics, and safety or moderation tooling.

With Google services

Ideas uses Google services such as Firebase, Google Sign-In or authentication-related services, Google Maps, and Google Places. When you use features that depend on these services, information needed to provide those features may be processed by Google under Google's applicable terms and privacy policies.

Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:

https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy

With Apple, Google, and device services

If you use iOS or Android permissions such as notifications, camera, photos, contacts, calendar, or location, Apple, Google, or your device platform may process information as part of app distribution, device operation, permission controls, notifications, diagnostics, crash handling, and other platform services.

For safety, legal, and business reasons

We may share information if we believe it is necessary to:

* Comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests.

* Protect the rights, safety, and security of Ideas, our users, or others.

* Investigate or respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, or policy violations.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties, except as needed for providers that help us deliver the service.

4. DEVICE PERMISSIONS

Ideas may request access to certain device features. You can allow, deny, or later change these permissions through your device settings.

Camera and photos

We may request camera or photo access so you can take, select, upload, view, or share profile photos, event photos, post photos, or other images in the app.

Contacts

We may request contacts access if you choose to find people you know. Contact matching is used to identify contacts who may already use Ideas. We do not sell contact data, use it for advertising, or show other users your address book.

Calendar

We may request calendar-related access or store calendar preferences if you choose to use calendar features for planning, availability, tasks, or events.

Location

We may request location access so you can search for nearby places, view maps, choose event or plan locations, calculate distances, or attach a location to content you create. Location access is optional. We do not continuously track your location in the background unless a future feature clearly explains that it needs active location access and you grant permission. If you deny location permission, some map or place features may not work as intended.

Push notifications

We may request permission to send push notifications about account activity, messages, events, plans, groups, communities, invitations, reminders, safety notices, and other app features. You can turn off notifications in your device settings.

The Services may use third-party providers that help us run the app. These may include Firebase, Google Cloud, Google Maps Platform, Google Places, Google Sign-In, Algolia, image hosting or delivery providers, Apple services, and other infrastructure or support providers.

These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies, as well as agreements or settings we use to limit processing where applicable.

The Services may also include links or integrations that open third-party websites or apps, such as map directions. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or apps you choose to open outside Ideas.

6. COOKIES, TRACKING, AND ADVERTISING

Ideas is primarily a mobile app. We may use standard technical tools, logs, analytics, diagnostics, or similar technologies needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the Services. If we add analytics tools such as Google Analytics for Firebase in the future, we will use them to understand app performance and feature usage.

We do not use cookies, pixels, SDKs, or similar technologies to sell your personal information or deliver targeted advertising. We do not permit third-party advertising networks or offer-wall providers to track you through Ideas for their own advertising purposes.

7. HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, enforce our terms, and maintain security.

If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify information where required by applicable law and where deletion is technically and legally possible. Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, fraud prevention records, legal records, or records needed to protect the safety and integrity of the Services. Content you shared with other users may remain visible to them unless removed by you, by us, or through account deletion flows where applicable.
